Map 4: Armada pursued by Howard east of Plymouth

As Sir Francis Drake captured the Rosario during the night of 31 July 1588, depicted here on the lower left, the rest of the English fleet pursued the Armada. Flotsam and jetsam from the Armada and the Rosario are depicted to the bottom.
The Ark Royal took over the role of the Revenge, with the Bear and Mary Rose astern.
To the right the English fleet races to catch up with the Spanish having lost contact during the night.
The Armada itself had been reorganised by the Duke of Medina Sidonia in the morning of 1 August 1588 into the iconic defensive crescent shape you see here.
